Birthday Shenanigans

To celebrate the lovely Sheba's birthday, we rounded up the coolest people we knew and settled into Dobbs Ferry for the better part of Friday night. This fun little place in Hayes Valley offers trendy American cuisine and a killer bar. Upon arriving, I scooted right on up to said bar and inquired the bartender about his "most festive drink"... He looked at me for a few seconds (probably rather annoyed at my question), so I continued with, "You know, something fun with vodka and champagne..." (like duh). How I managed to not get a pic of his "festive" concoction is beyond me... But Alanna and I each had two and well, the rest is a bit hazy ;)

(Steve was sitting, he's not that small)

Here's what we do know...

The food was beyond incredible... I made my way around the table and got to try a lot of dishes, none of which were less than delicious.

Ian had the Rigatoni... this was unbelievable... Also, you can tell it's his because of the Old Fashioned... nothing too festive for this Don Draper enthusiast! #LetsKeepToTheClassics
a Dobbs Ferry staple with tomato sauce, red peppers and braised pork sausage

I got the Burrata pizza... you know how I feel about Burrata...
fresh Di Stefano mozzarella, shaved eggplant with marinara, parmesan and basil
a.k.a. a dream of a pizza

The Ravioli for Danielle...
roasted pumpkin and goat cheese stuffed egg pasta with brown butter, dino kale, pine nuts,
sage and pecorino

Chicken Scarpariello for Taylor...
Mary’s half chicken brined and roasted, served with Italian sausage, sweet peppers,
pepperoncini and crispy fried potatoes in a vinegar-butter sauce

Pork Roast with a side of brussel sprouts for Steve and Alanna...
Yep, those two are def sharing dishes...!

And some olives and Mac and Cheese to share!

Literally, everything was heaven.

And then, of course, it was time for some more birthday embarrassment...

Roomies :)

After, a long dinner at Dobbs Ferry, we thought it best to go in search of a nightcap and ended up at Blackbird... A fun little bar in the outer - Castro... things didn't get that crazy :)

It actually seemed more hipster-y than Castro-y...

I mean, in that pic alone, there are two peeps with glasses on...!

And that's all the photographic evidence we have of the birthday shenanigans!

...Except for this gem...

It was a great night with great people, and the most perfect way to celebrate the birth of the Sheba of all Shebas :) :)
