Locks of Love

Made it to Paris!!

The lesson to be learned here is that when you're sad about leaving one European city, just hop on the train and head to another! ;)

We met this fleecy woman in the metro and she walked us all the way to our apartment!

Ian with all of his bags and half of mine...

We dropped all our stuff off and then immediately went back out for some exploring...

The beautiful and gothic Notre Dame cathedral...

Spotted this little gargoyle clearly bored of scaring all the pigeons away... and really - who could blame him?

We made our way through the Luxembourg Gardens...

Before coming across Pierre Herme in St. Germain!

What a fitting first snack in Paris!

After much exploring and window shopping, we decided we had earned ourselves a hearty French meal...

Cafe de Flore it is!

We were loving the significantly warmer weather (compared to The Netherlands) and were excited to enjoy some outdoor bistro dining... my fave!!

Two mulled wines to start, si'l vous plait!

What we got to eat can only be described as pure decadence... A croque monsieur sandwich covered in molten cheese with an egg on top...

So bad, but so SO good!!

This right here made the whole detox diet worth it...

In dire need of a walk, we popped out again for more exploring... Starting with a French Pharmacie!!

Being as potions obsessed as I am, you can imagine how excited I was for this... But more on that later - it deserves its own post!

We walked along the Seine and the enormously beautiful Louvre...

And then came across the Pont des Arts, a bridge most known for all the locks of love that completely cover the entire thing...

Obviously, we had to get in on this incredibly fleecy gesture...

But the real problem was finding a spot!

Everything was covered and some locks had even been locked around other locks!

But we finally found a good spot, which we took to be a good sign :)

And made sure that baby was on tight!

:)

I just love love...

Can you still spot it?!

By evening, we were so exhausted from all the travel and exploring, that we popped into a few shops and just made dinner at our temporary little home...

Bonne nuit!

xoxo
