L.A. (baybay) Day 1

Woohoo! Finally got around to blogging about my whirlwind trip to LA! Most of Ian's closest friends have migrated down south from San Francisco, so for his birthday we figured, why not meet them all down there?!

After a MAJOR debacle with Southwest that involved 8 hours chillin in SFO (#dreamcometrue anyone?), we finally arrived in Orange County where we scooped up this mongrel...

Because all birthdays should involve an endless amount of indulgence, I also scooped up an assortment of my FAVORITE cookies from a little bakery in Tustin called Zov's...

They're iced sugar cookies and they're amazing, yes, but I'm mostly obsessed with how freaking cute they are! The themes change with the seasons but they always have some birthday cakes...

I mean, are they not adorable?!

That watermelon is on point...

OK, back to this scruffy mongrel, otherwise known as Little Dave...

Ian, Little Dave and I piled into Anish's car and made our way to LA...

When we got into the city, Anish insisted on taking us all to Chego! in Chinatown...

The weather was so nice, so we sat outside (my fave!) at picnic tables and grubbed...

Chego! is a Korean BBQ place that I think also has a foodtruck?? So, yummy rice bowls all around!

And a sandwich for LD...

With our bellies finally full, we headed to Codie and Megan's apartment, where we found a sweet little surprise :)

We settled in...

Had a quick little dance party...

...gave some serious Blue Steel?

and then ran back outside because we realized to get this party started, we need some drinks up in here...

...Is this boxed wine bringing you back?
(Eeeeeeeeeeeks!)

Deciding on what drinks to make is a serious endeavor...

They decided on milk? Took some cues from The Dude and got all the fixins for White Russians. Which David was clearly stoked about...

Codie and Megan's apartment has the most gorg rooftop view so we made some drinks and cruised on up...

Here you have the rare opportunity to witness a true bromance in action...

While we were all getting cleaned up for dinner, Ian and Anish realized they had packed the same shirt!

#BestieProbs

Codie and I gave the little shark some lovin...

Then he poured some drinks...

While Dave looked skeptical...

Cheers to 26, Ian!

Bestie Bros...

I FINALLY got Little Dave to smile in a pic for a change...

For a second, at least...

Sibs... Am I right?!

Awww, the three besties :)

How cute are my two boys?!?! :) :)

Eventually, we got everyone out the door and into a cab...

These two crazies got bumped to the trunk...

LA, you are looking mighty fine!

We cruised on over to the Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica where we were meeting all of Ian's friends for din!

We chose La Sandia for our dinner locale, and it was beyond perfect. A super fun atmosphere, yummy drinks and food, great service and they were very accommodating to our large party!

Look who we found!! The third sib!!

Love these two littles more than life :)

Chambray was the apparent theme of the night... Ian dubbed this trio the "cham-bros"...

Little Sister's boyfriend, Paul, very kindly kicked off our night with a round of tequila shots...

Cheers!

Major thumbs up to this epic bday din...

Look at all those handsome boys!

Ian was overwhelmed with all the love he was getting from his peeps and gave a little toast thanking them all for celebrating with him :)

Then he opened up a few pressies...

And got a money clip! He had insisted on using a rubber band as his wallet, so this was a major improvement!

Happy 26th birthday to my love! It was such a fun, perfect night filled with friends, fam and food! Does a birthday get any better than that?!

xoxo
